I used to have a bad habit of not taking photos of my children at home unless everything was perfect and planned—the lighting, the background, the outfits.  It used to drive me nuts if I would take a photo of them in the moment, then notice all the distracting elements around.  I would delete the photos.

Fortunately, it didn’t take me too long to come to my senses.  I realize (and actually realized long ago) that the little moments we see that pass so quickly soon become big moments when we look back at them over time.

A Beautiful Fall Family Session | Charlotte Family Photographer

The fall season is a popular time for family portraits. The outdoor temperatures are just right (not too warm, not too cold), the changing environmental colors are beautiful, and a lot of families take advantage of the time between the busy summer and busy holiday season to update their portraits.

When my cousin from Nashville, TN asked me about taking his beautiful family's photos, I was so excited.  I found out that they would be traveling to the Charlotte area for Thanksgiving, so that would be the perfect time for us to get together to take their photos.
