Christy and I have known each other for almost 20 years! We initially met in a college internship program, only to find out that we were also sorority sisters (skee-wee!), and have kept in touch over the years.

The Gary Family was truly a pleasure to spend time with! Mr. Gary contacted me towards the end of the year to schedule a photo session while his oldest son was home from college. It had been many years since they had taken family photos and they knew that now was the right time to do so. Not only were they choosing to document their beautiful family with this photo session, but Mr. and Mrs. Gary were also celebrating 24 years of marriage!

Improving My Craft - Highlights of the Melanin & Light Workshop | Charlotte Photographer

Back in early February, I attended the Melanin and Light Workshop, hosted by Kristen Gordon of K. Marie Photography and Denise Benson of Denise Benson Photography . In addition to learning some new tips on photographing and editing black and brown skin, one of my personal goals was to also continue to work on posing, angles, and showing a variety of perspectives in my photos.
