I've had the pleasure of capturing this lovely couple (my sister and brother-in-love) many times now, beginning with their engagement photos back in 2015.

They were married in June 2016 (I was part of the wedding party, not the wedding photographer), and they have been enjoying married life since.

At their first wedding anniversary, my sister had the idea for them to have anniversary photos done. I was happy to photograph them and we had a great session!

For this year, I presented her with a concept that I'll call "After the Wedding." The idea was to present a photo session that demonstrates what things would look like for them on the evening of their wedding (After the Wedding--get it?).

This required a careful selection of attire--a wedding-like gown for the bride (maybe something she would have changed into at the reception), and a dressy casual look for her groom.

My sister LOVED the idea and she and Jarron had the perfect idea of what to wear. We had a plan!

For this second anniversary photo session, we started off the session in my home studio, and the lovely couple was dressed in their elegant attire. After the studio session (and after a quick outfit change), we headed to the Boardwalk in north Charlotte to capture a few fun, casual outdoor shots.

My goal with this photo session was to capture the natural interactions and emotions between the two of them. It will be beautiful for them to look back on these photos years from now to see how they celebrated their anniversary each year.
