Shaqyra contacted me back in April to discuss a maternity photo session. She was referred to me from a past client, and I couldn't be more happy than to help her plan her maternity session in Charlotte.

She was expecting her first child in July and wanted to document this special occasion through photos. While the gender of the baby was a surprise to both her and her fiance', Shaqyra knew that she wanted a beautiful session surrounded by water and flowers.

With the help of a photographer friend, I found the perfect location for her maternity session, and she had the perfect attire.

The session took place at the UNCC Botanical Gardens. The gardens contain many beautiful elements, one being a lovely waterfall, which made the perfect backdrop for Shaqyra's maternity photos. With her fiance' and stepson joining us, this maternity session was a dream.

I arrived at the location a few minutes before our scheduled session time in order to get set up and await my client. When Shaqyra walked down to our meeting location, she was absolutely stunning, in her custom top and tulle skirt, and flower crown made by her friend. She was beautiful, and I joked that she was a garden nymph!

After several gorgeous shots at the waterfall (and after a wardrobe change), we moved to a different location in the garden. There we were able to capture several photos of Shaqyra and her family. For these photos, she wore a black gown from my studio wardrobe.

I just love how everything came together for this photo session.
